If you sell on eBay or Etsy as well as Shopify, a forecast built on Shopify alone sees only part of your demand. A product selling steadily on more than one channel looks slower than it really is, so its reorder point sits too low and it runs out earlier than the numbers led you to expect. Connecting a marketplace lets Stockful read your sales history from it, so sales rates, days of supply and reorder points reflect what the business actually sells rather than what one channel sells.

Connecting a marketplace

Go to Settings, then Integrations, and pick eBay or Etsy under Marketplaces. Press Connect and sign in. Stockful asks for read access only: your orders, and on Etsy the shop details that tell it which shop those orders belong to. The marketplace shows you exactly that before you agree. Stockful only ever reads from a marketplace. Nothing is written back: no listings, no prices, no stock levels. Once connected, the first sync reads your recent orders and every sync after that picks up new ones. How far back the first sync reaches is a setting on the same page, 90 days by default and up to a year.

Letting it into your forecasts

Connecting does not change any of your numbers on its own. Include in forecasts is a separate switch on the marketplace’s page, off until you turn it on, so you can connect and look before anything moves.
If your marketplace orders already arrive in Shopify, through Shopify’s Marketplace Connect, the Etsy sales channel or a similar app, they are already in your forecast. The marketplace’s page warns you when it sees them, because connecting it directly on top would count that demand twice and push your reorder points up. In that case leave it disconnected.
Marketplace demand has no Shopify location, so it joins your forecast at the product level. On a store that forecasts per location, it lands on the hub location; a per-location store with no hub has nowhere to put it, and the page says so.

Matching SKUs

Marketplace sales are matched to your products by SKU first, then barcode. Anything that does not match is kept and listed on the marketplace’s page for you to map rather than quietly dropped, so no sales history is lost while you sort a mismatch out. Mapping a SKU applies to sales already imported, not just future ones.

Amazon

Amazon is built and waiting on Amazon’s own approval of the Stockful app. It appears under Marketplaces as soon as it is live. If there is a marketplace you need, email support@stockful.app and it goes on the list. Knowing which ones merchants actually sell on is what decides the order they arrive in.
