Sidekick is the AI assistant built into the Shopify admin. Stockful plugs into it, so you can ask about your inventory, forecasts and alerts right inside Shopify, without opening Stockful. It’s the same inventory data that powers Stockful’s in-app AI assistant and MCP server, surfaced to Sidekick.
Available on all paid plans, wherever Shopify Sidekick is enabled. Using Stockful through Sidekick doesn’t count against your in-app assistant message allowance.

What you can ask

Open Sidekick in the Shopify admin and ask about your stock:
  • “What’s low on stock at my London warehouse?”
  • “What should I reorder, and how urgent is it?”
  • “When will this product run out at the current sales rate?”
  • “What’s my dead stock — inventory that isn’t selling?”
  • “What’s my stock worth right now, by location?”
  • “Which products drive most of my revenue?” (ABC analysis)
  • “What are stockouts costing me this month?”
  • “Anything unusual in demand this week?”
Sidekick uses Stockful’s tools to answer, and where it helps, links you straight to the matching page in Stockful for the full picture.
Through Sidekick, Stockful is read-only — it answers questions and points you to the right place in Stockful, but doesn’t change anything. To make changes (snoozing reorders, adjusting forecasts, toggling alerts), use Stockful directly or the MCP server.

Setup

There’s nothing to set up. As long as Stockful is installed on your store and you’re on a paid plan, its inventory tools are available to Sidekick automatically. The first time Sidekick uses Stockful, it may ask you to allow it — confirm, and you’re set.
If Sidekick doesn’t seem to know about your inventory, ask it directly, for example “use Stockful to check what’s low on stock”.

Privacy and data

  • Your store only. Sidekick only ever sees the inventory data for the store you’re working in.
  • Read-only. Stockful’s Sidekick tools answer questions; they don’t change your data or move stock in Shopify.
  • Active plan required. Inventory answers need an active Stockful subscription, the same as the rest of the app.
