# Storefront traffic

> How Stockful joins your storefront sessions and searches to inventory: traffic stats per SKU, demand-pressure reordering, out-of-stock pages still drawing visits, and search demand you aren't stocking.

Stockful syncs your storefront's sessions and search terms from Shopify and joins them to your inventory. Not as a traffic dashboard - Shopify already has one - but as a demand signal on the surfaces where you make stock decisions: which out-of-stock product is actively costing you visits, which reorder deserves priority because its page is surging, and what shoppers are searching for that you don't carry.

<Note>
Stockful syncs up to two years of traffic history when you install, so for an established store these surfaces light up as soon as the initial sync finishes. A brand-new storefront needs about a week of sessions before there is enough signal to trust. Sessions are collected per product page, so everything traffic-related works at product grain - variants of the same product share their product's sessions, split by each variant's share of recent sales.

## Where traffic shows up

| Surface | What you see |
| --------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **SKU detail** | Sessions over the last 28 days (with the prior 28 for comparison) and the product's traffic conversion against your shop average |
| **Dashboard** | A "needs your attention" row counting out-of-stock SKUs that are still drawing visits |
| **Health check** | High-traffic stockouts, in-stock products with real traffic and no sales, and frequent storefront searches that match nothing in your catalogue |
| **Reorder recommendations** | An optional demand-pressure sort and a **Traffic surge** badge when a SKU's sessions have at least doubled |
| **Reports** | The [Traffic](/stockfulql/datasets/traffic) and [Search](/stockfulql/datasets/search) datasets, plus three built-in reports: Traffic & Conversion, Traffic vs Sales Trend, and Top Storefront Searches |

## Settings

From **Settings → Forecasting**, the **Storefront traffic** section:

* **Storefront traffic** (on by default) - the master switch. Turning it off darkens every traffic surface: stats stop being computed, the dashboard count reads zero, health-check findings stop, and the toggles below disappear.
* **Traffic in reorder priority** (off by default) - lets traffic rank your reorder list: adds the demand-pressure sort and the surge badge.
* **Traffic in forecasts** (off by default) - lets traffic trends adjust demand forecasts. This switch only appears once the forecasting side has been validated and enabled by Stockful.

Individual SKUs can be excluded on [SKU overrides](/user-guide/forecasting/sku-overrides) - the **Traffic** column - which removes them from every traffic surface without touching the rest of the shop.

## What the numbers mean

* **Sessions (28d)** - storefront sessions that landed on the product's page over the last 28 days, allocated to the variant by its share of the product's recent sales (evenly when the product hasn't sold).
* **Traffic conversion** - units sold per hundred product-page sessions. Small samples are smoothed toward the product type's rate and your shop's overall rate, so a product with thirty sessions doesn't read as 0% or 30% conversion on the strength of one sale.
* **Traffic surge** - sessions at least doubled against the prior 28 days, past a minimum floor, so quiet products don't surge on noise.
